Octocon 2024

I have finished up with Octocon! I mean, technically I had my final committee meeting last night, and I have a handover meeting with the new co-Chair this week, but the public-facing stuff is all done.

I know there are a few more photos of me from the weekend floating about, but I can’t seem to find them. Thankfully, my good friend Mark was working socials for Octocon over the weekend and snapped a few that are on the convention’s accounts.

It was a wonderful weekend, and we raised a lot of money for our charity of choice – St Michael’s House, in honour of my late aunt Victoria. I almost cried while explaining why we chose them. It was… a lot.

I’ll miss my time working on the convention, but it is absolutely the best thing for me right now to not be trying to organise an event in my spare time.

I can’t wait to attend Kat and Catherine’s Octocon in 2025.
